KCA recognizes doctors in the field of chiropractic who have contributed to the profession in outstanding ways.
 

KCA Doctor of the Year Award

This award is presented to a Kansas Doctor of Chiropractic who has made outstanding contributions to the field of Chiropractic. Nominations are made by the KCA Board of Directors and Officers, KCA district officers, committee chairs, and chiropractic members of the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. KCA members select the recipient via ballot vote. The recipient is recognized at the KCA Fall Convention with an engraved plaque, and with a permanent plaque hung at the KCA Office in Topeka.

2016 KCA Doctor of the Year
Scott Null, DC, Independence 

 

Dr. Scott Null graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1980, and has been in practice for 36 years. He has been a KCA member for 36 years and currently serves on the KCA Board of Directors as the SE District director, and is immediate past chairman of the KCA Ethics Committee. He is a past member of the ACA and the ICA. He has served in every leadership position in the SE District, and has served KCA for 35 of his 36 years of practice.

Dr. Null is active in his community and civic organizations. He teaches an adult Sunday school class, is a Boy Scout leader, and is a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Mirza Shrine. He is a past president of the Independence Optimist Club, the Independence USD 446 Educational Foundation, and FORPAZ (Friends of Riverside Park and Zoo). Dr. Null and his wife of 29 years, Janelle, have three grown children, Spencer, Logan, and Chase.

Dr. Darrell Fore Young Doctor of the Year Award

This award is presented to a Kansas Doctor of Chiropractic who has made outstanding contributions to the field of Chiropractic within the first few years of practice. Nominations are gathered by the KCA President from the KCA Board of Directors and Officers, and any other KCA members as needed. The President considers all nominations, then selects a recipient for approval by the board of directors. The recipient is recognized at the KCA Fall Convention with an engraved plaque, and with a permanent plaque hung at the KCA Office in Topeka.

2016 Young Doctor of the Year
Devin Vrana, DC, Wichita

 

Dr. Devin Vrana has practices in Goddard and in Wichita. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City. While at CCC, she served as Student Council President, American Chiropractic Association student representative, and Founder/President of the CCC Chapter of World Congress of Women Chiropractors. She has also served as the President of the KCA Sedgwick District.

Dr. Vrana has completed specialty training and certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is becoming well respected as a speaker on pediatric chiropractic. She is Webster Technique Certified through the ICPA and has achieved Basic Acupuncture Certification and Fellowship status through the Acupuncture Society of America. She has traveled with the ASA to Beijing and Shanghai to study Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine firsthand.
