Spring Convention Early Bird registration deadline is today!

Today, April 11, at midnight central time, is the early bird registration deadline for the 2016 KCA Spring Convention, to be held April 30 and May 1, 2016 in Wichita. Registering today saves $50 off of the normal registration rates.


An excellent line-up of speakers and topics has been selected for the convention: 


Dr. Bart Green, DC, MSEd, PHd, DACBSP

Sports Chiropractic (4 hrs CE) - Sat., 8 am to noon

This seminar will focus on current trends in diagnosis and treatment for hip pain in the athletic population, to include femoroacetabular impingement, femoroacetabular labral tears, and soft tissue injury. By the end of this seminar participants should be able to differentiate various pain-generating tissues in the hip, perform clinical tests for femoro-acetabular impingement, differentially diagnose hip pain, perform corrective exercises for various types of hip disorders, and discuss preferred manipulation and soft tissue treatments for some hip disorders.

Evidence Based Practice (4 hrs CE) - Sat., 1-5 pm

This seminar will identify quality sources of evidence to use in clinical practice, where scientific evidence is generated, generating answerable clinical questions, and practical applications using cases. By the end of this seminar participants should be able to list the core stakeholders in evidence-based practice, describe the steps of evidence-based practice, rank order appropriate sources of evidence, and apply evidence to clinical cases.


Dr. Mario Fucinari, DC, CCSP, CPCO, MCS-P

Documentation, Coding & Compliance (4 hrs CE) -Sat., 8 am to noon

Now that ICD-10 transition has occurred, we will take a look at the all the important principles and new policies for diagnosis and CPT coding as they are applied to the carrier policies for 2016. We will examine coding and documentation policies, including Medicare, and how your documentation and coding procedures have to adapt. Dr. Fucinari will show you step-by-step procedures to manage your risk by implementing the new policies and procedures into your office. In his back-to-the-basics approach, Mario whittles a difficult subject to an understandable and interesting comprehension of the requirements.


Physical Assessment of Biomechanics (4 hrs CE) -Sat., 1-5 pm

The components of the physical examination structure the patient's story and direct the treatment and goals of each individual patient. Documen-tation Guidelines in EHR, Medicare and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Regulations now makes your documentation critical! Learn step-by-step procedures to examine, document and code biomechanical injuries and other conditions. 


Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, DC, FICC, FACC

Do I Really Need To Be A Professional? (2 hrs CE) - Sun., 8-10 am

Dr. Fab Mancini will share why professionalism has become so important. After more than 25 years as a successful Chiropractor, educator and health and wellness expert, Dr. Fab shares his observations on how to position yourself as a leader in healthcare. He will share stories and comments by the public, media, and even patients, regarding what they expect from you, and how to be compliant with the new healthcare changes. He’ll also share simple steps to ensure you meet the expectations of your patients. 

The Evolution of Chiropractic. It Is Our Time! (2 hrs CE) - Sun., 10 am to noon

Dr. Fab will discuss how we’ve evolved as a profession throughout the last 120 years. He will also share how our role changed, why a natural and holistic approach is in demand, and what the opportunities in front of us are. You’ll also learn how “Mechanism” and “Vitalism” thinking has impacted the health of humanity and what you can do to correct that. He will go over the evidence behind what we do in Chiropractic and will discuss the everyday choices that are keeping us from living a healthy life.
